Talk Show

Many important personages of the day visited the Lake Madison Chautauqua.  Have the students research these people and present their information to the class by pretending to be that person and setting on a talk-show panel, something like the Oprah Winfrey Show.  Some of the well-known personages that attended the Lake Madison Chautauqua were were Reverend T. DeWitt Talmage, Governor Arthur C. Mellette, Governor Coe I. Crawford, Booker T. Washington, Eugene V. Debs, William Jennings Bryan and President William Howard Taft and President Grover Cleveland.
