In a high school setting the guidance counselor is very important to maturing adolescents.  The counselors are present to assist the students in making responsible decisions that will effect the rest of their lives and their career.  Counselors' offices are always filled with information about the numerous options that students have to prepare themselves for the rest of their lives.

Parents are also an important part of a teenagers decision-making process about their future.  Parents should visit the Preparing Your Child for College Resource Book.  This gives an overview of what parents can expect their children to go through during college.
