There are over 300 field trips to choose from. Go to http://www.scholastic.com
and search for "field trip."
Field Trip Tips:
 | Visit the Internet site to see that it meets the needs of you students
and your curriculum and to make sure that the site URL is still active. |
 | Prepare the students for the "trip" by providing background and tantalize them
with some of the things they will see or do. |
 | Prepare a Scavengers Hunt to direct and focus the students exploration. |
 | Write a list of question with the students that will help focus their investigations.
This is a good time to use a KWL chart. If you are visiting a large site, you might want
to break up the questions and to give partners or small groups sets of questions to answer
and to report their findings to the larger group. |
 | Go over a list of expected behaviors. |
 | Get a signed permission slip before the trip. |
 | After the field trip, prepare a language experience chart or another way
for feedback and evaluation. |
