Reading

"Somewhere between eight and fourteen years there may appear a stage in the child’s life when he takes an interest in reading….an interest in reading has often made the difference between a common and great man."
Modern Elementary School Practice, 1919.

Collector's Poster The magical art of Mary Grandpre, illustrator of the Harry Potter books created this poster for Lands End Catalog.  The proceeds from this collector's poster go to First Book.

"I've never seen anything like this in 20 years of illustrating children's books, magazines articles and brochures," says the artist who gave the world its first peek at Harry Potter.

Mary Grandpre is from St. Paul, MN.

"Because knowing how to read
is all the magic any kid needs!"
