Here is our idea of an ideal computer lab:

Our computer lab to have a comfortable atmosphere and be easily accessible. The teacher's desk will be in the back for use during lecture and supervision because of it's unobstructed view of the classroom. There will be seven crescent shaped desks that hold four computers for the students to view the projection screens.  The computers mounted beneath the desks may have flat screen monitors, so the students can pay attention to the class discussion orj0174157.wmf (11906 bytes) the lecture.  Each computer also has a link to the other computers to allow students to observe another students screen from across the room on their own monitor.  The computers all have ergonomic keyboards to reduce fatigue. The keyboards also can be folded under the desk to allow for work space when the computer is not needed. At the front of the room there are three large SMART board screens that can be used together to play back a movie or separately to allow students to easily view presentations. Both the printer and scanner would be located on the instructors desk to allow the teacher to monitor the amount of needless printing and scanning.
