April Fool's Day

The first of April, some do say,
Is set apart for All Fools' Day.
But why the people call it so,
Nor I, nor they themselves do know.
But on this day are people sent
On purpose for pure merriment.
-- Poor Robin's Almanac (1790)

The theme I chose is April Fool's Day and it is for first grade.  It would work best towards the end of March or beginning of April.

Possible standards would be:

History:

2.    compare the lives of people and events associated with major holidays, including Native American Day, Thanksgiving, Veterans Day and Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Presidents’ Day
